As an independent advisor I do not have sales quotas or pressure from a parent company to recommend front loaded mutual funds, annuities or other expensive investments with high commissions that are more profitable for the firm. Unlike brokers, all registered investment advisors are fiduciaries and are required by law to act in the best interests of their clients and provide all investors with a detailed Plain English Disclosure Brochure that includes a description of their experience, business practices, investment strategy, fee schedule and any conflicts of interest.
